Are the public becoming more Internet Savvy

A Search Engine Watch Forums thread reports that Google Analytics Evangelist Avinash Kaushik spoke with webmasters last week and reported that, for the first time, the average number of keywords per query has gone from 3 to 4 words per query. It looks like people are searching for the long tail, which is great for those who are optimizing for it.

You can also check the Google Trends for today, and while most of them are Valentine’s Day related, you can see that there’s a good deal of 3-word queries.

This means it should be your strategy to start looking at long tail queries and performing the research to do so if you haven’t already. You have nothing to lose.
